Yes, we want to... get married in a castle!

Our stylish, small-scale, and recently renovated castle is beautifully situated in the wooded area of Zeist and is the perfect backdrop for a stylish wedding. The contemporary and classically furnished rooms and sunny terraces offer countless options, from intimate weddings to multi-day parties.

The perfect wedding location

How nice that you consider celebrating the most beautiful day of your life in our intimate castle! Kasteel Kerckebosch is the perfect wedding venue if you want a romantic wedding where everything can take place under one roof. The ceremony, reception, dinner, party evening and overnight stay are all possible with us. With an average rating of 9.4 received from previous bridal couples, we are of course extremely proud.

Your own castle for a day

During your wedding, the entire castle area is exclusively reserved for you: all rooms in the castle, the wing, gravel terrace and the upper hotel rooms are included in the rent. In an intimate, homely atmosphere you and your guests can move from one cozy room to another. Staying overnight and having breakfast together the next morning ensures a relaxing end to your most beautiful day(s).

Ceremony

Kasteel Kerckebosch has been designated by the municipality of Zeist as an official wedding location. This makes it possible to have the wedding ceremony take place in one of our stylish rooms or, if the weather allows us, to say "I do" to each other in the beautiful castle garden. After the ceremony there will be a toast, and all guests will be spoiled by our employees. The culinary interpretation is of course entirely up to you.

A dinner for connoisseurs

You and your guests will be able to enjoy the beautiful dishes that our kitchen staff has prepared with great love. Our sommelier can provide beautiful matching wines and all of this is served in one of our attractive rooms.

About 6 weeks before the big day we invite you to a tasting dinner, so we can compose the perfect dinner together.

Party

Our castle is the ideal location for a nice party! There is enough space for a party of up to approximately 250 guests, but also with a smaller group the space is never too big thanks to the beautiful, frosted glass façade that allows us to easily reduce the size of the room. The DJ can play from different spots pointed out by you, and of course we will create a nice dance floor in the castle lounge. From our bar we serve the tastiest drinks and serve delicious snacks.

Styling

Our castle is already attractive and beautifully decorated by itself, but of course you can add a personal touch to it. In collaboration with Margriet Bloemblinders, we offer you a styling package, or we can introduce you to one of our preferred partners.

You are of course also free to take care of the styling yourself or to hire another stylist, in consultation with us.

Our preferred partners

There is a lot to consider when planning your most beautiful day. A DJ for the party night, a photographer to capture everything, maybe the styling of your dinner table and not to forget the wedding cake. In recent years we have created a nice file of preferred partners and we would be happy to share it with you. Suppliers that know our location and our team very well.

Frequently Asked Questions

General General

Do we have the castle area exclusively for ourselves?
Yes! You rent the entire castle area, so there will be no other groups or parties present. This area starts from the large heavy Dom door (at the reception). Your space includes our salon, lounge, bar, castle hall, Lintelo Room, and terrace. Additionally, the 14 hotel rooms located above are exclusively reserved for you.

Are you an official wedding venue?
Yes, Kasteel Kerckebosch is a recognized wedding venue.

Where can our guests park?
Around the castle, we have parking spaces for about 80 cars. Parking on our premises is always at your own risk. If these parking spaces are full, there is additional parking available in the surrounding area. These are public parking spaces.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?
No, this is not allowed. Food and drinks are provided by Kasteel Kerckebosch. The only exception is the wedding cake.

Do you have partners you recommend?
We have a wonderful group of partners that we would like to introduce to you. They can be found here (Our Preferred Partners | Kasteel Kerckebosch Zeist). We have been working with these partners for years, and they know very well how to make your day even more special.

When do we need to provide the final guest numbers?
We would like to receive the final numbers for adults and children (including the bridal couple) about 2 weeks before your wedding. At that time, we would also like to receive information about any allergies and dietary requirements. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to accommodate last-minute dietary requests, and extra costs may be involved.

Can we visit the venue before the wedding?
We have several contact moments with you:

  1. First contact: You visit us, and we discuss your wishes, possibilities, and planning. Based on this conversation, we create the offer.
  2. Second contact: We organize a speed date event four times a year, during which you are welcome to visit our location.
  3. Third contact: About 6 weeks before your wedding, we discuss the details of your wedding on-site during the schedule discussion. This is also the time when you can taste the menu.
  4. Two weeks before your wedding: We receive the final guest numbers per part of the day (adults & children), allergy/dietary requirements, and the final seating arrangement for the ceremony and dinner.
  5. Two days before your wedding: We confirm whether the wedding will take place indoors or outdoors. Due to preparations and the possible reservation of products, this choice is final at that time.

Is your venue accessible for wheelchairs?
Our castle itself is easily accessible by wheelchair. Unfortunately, we do not have an elevator, and all our rooms are located on the first or second floor. Our gravel terrace is accessible via the lawn.

Do you have a sound system?
Indoors, we have a standard sound system for background music, to which we can connect a microphone. We cannot connect recording equipment to this system. Since we are located near other buildings, we have clear rules for music volume both indoors and outdoors.

Are you a child-friendly location?
Children are more than welcome with us! However, we kindly ask parents to always supervise their children. For groups with more than 7 children, we kindly request arranging a nanny.

Can you arrange taxis for us?
Of course, we are happy to help with this. To ensure availability, it is best to reserve this in advance. We also recommend checking out the options at Expattaxi.

Can we decorate everything according to our wishes?
The castle is a listed building, which means that nothing can be affixed with tape, adhesive, or any other sticky material in and around the building. Additionally, real candles are not allowed anywhere except on the dinner table. Therefore, it is good to discuss everything with us in advance. We are happy to explain what is and isn’t possible.

Do you have additional decoration options available?
We always recommend our preferred partners for complete decoration. However, we also have some additional options and extras to make it even more beautiful, such as our illuminated LOVE letters. Additionally, we have items like menu cards and welcome boards. Please ask our colleagues about our extra possibilities.

Do you serve drinks all day?
We offer different drink packages for your celebration. Our sommelier is also happy to advise on wine selection for the dinner. We serve drinks throughout the day up until the start of the party. From the party onwards, guests can order drinks at the bar.

Is a photoshoot possible at the castle?
This is only possible on the day of your wedding. If you are not getting married with us, this is not allowed.

Quotation Quotation

Do you work with a revenue guarantee?
Yes, we do have a minimum revenue requirement that must be met:

  • May – September: €14,000
  • Other months: €12,000

If the minimum revenue is not met, we will increase the room rental fee to reach the minimum revenue guarantee. This will be reflected on the final invoice after your wedding. Multi-day weddings are an exception to this rule.

Can we reserve a date?
You can first view atmosphere images on our website and create a trial quote. Then, we warmly invite you for a site visit. During this visit, we like to get to know you a bit, give you a tour, and discuss your wishes and needs. Based on this, we will adjust the quote and can hold the chosen wedding date (if available) for you for 2 weeks.

Do we have to pay everything immediately upon booking?
If you decide to marry with us, you can secure the wedding date with a 25% down payment. The next payment is 50% of the total, due 8 weeks before your wedding. The final 25% is paid one month before the wedding. After the wedding, we will prepare the final invoice.

Can we modify the quotation after booking?
Yes, after reserving the wedding date, it is possible to partially adjust the quote based on your wishes. After providing the final guest numbers (2 weeks before your wedding), it will no longer be possible to make changes.

For any extra hotel rooms in our wing, the KHN conditions apply. External products/services can be modified or canceled up to 4 weeks before your wedding.

Start of the day Start of the day

What time can we arrive on the day?
You are welcome from 1:00 PM onwards. This means that decorations, flowers, and the wedding planners can start their preparations from 1:00 PM. Our make-up room is available from 11:00 AM. This space can accommodate up to 4 people, including the makeup artist and/or hairdresser.

What decorations are allowed/not allowed?
The castle is a listed building, which means that nothing can be affixed with tape, adhesive, or any other sticky material in the castle area. Apart from the LOVE letters, no decorations are allowed on the roundabout or at the main entrance. Posters, streamers, garlands, confetti, torches, smoke machines, and fireworks are not allowed. Additionally, real candles are only permitted on the dinner table. It's important to discuss everything with us in advance. We are happy to explain what is and isn’t possible.

When can suppliers start setting up?
Everyone is welcome to start setting up from 1:00 PM. For the DJ, we advise starting the setup during the dinner. Please note that there is no high-voltage power available in our castle.

Are drones allowed?
We must always consider the nearby houses and trees. However, they are allowed above and around the castle. Drones are not allowed in other areas, including the terrace, restaurant, and main entrance.

Can we deliver items a day earlier?
Due to limited storage space, we ask that all your items be delivered on the day of the wedding. A very small amount can be delivered the day before with prior arrangement.

Reception Reception

Do you receive all our guests upon arrival?
Our reception colleagues will be happy to welcome your day guests upon arrival. Evening guests will also be welcomed, and in consultation with the wedding planner, it will be discussed where the evening guests can wait if they arrive a bit early.

Ceremony Ceremony

Do you have a sound system for the ceremony?
Indoors, we have a standard sound system for background music, to which we can connect a microphone. For outdoor ceremonies, we need to rent this equipment for you.

Do you manage the music during the ceremony?
We will set up everything in terms of technology, but the music will be managed by the master of ceremonies. We will provide instructions to the master of ceremonies on the day.

Are flower petals allowed?
If the ceremony is indoors, only artificial flower petals that do not stain are allowed. These petals can only be scattered on the white runner to facilitate easy cleanup before setting up for the party. For outdoor ceremonies, only real flower petals are allowed on our (gravel) terrace.

When do we need to decide if the ceremony will be indoors or outdoors?
We will contact you by phone 2 to 3 days before your wedding to finalize the decision. Due to preparations and possible product reservations, this choice is final.

What if it rains?
In case of unpredictable weather, we advise renting a tent or opting to hold the ceremony indoors for certainty. Although we have a good indoor alternative, last-minute changes due to weather are far from ideal. Guests might need to help, chairs can get wet, etc.

How many guests can attend the ceremony?
In the salon and lounge, we have a maximum capacity of 120 people for the ceremony. For a smaller gathering, it is possible to use only the lounge, with a maximum capacity of around 75/80 people. We recommend keeping these numbers in mind for an outdoor ceremony as well.

How is the serving of the bubbles handled?
At the end of the ceremony, we will be ready with a delightful bubbly. As the newly married couple, you will receive the first glass, followed by the guests. If you have chosen a large bottle of prosecco with a personalized label, we will open this bottle in your presence.

Do you handle everything regarding the wedding cake?
We will ensure there is a table with linen, plates, cutlery, and, if desired, a cake knife. After you cut the first piece of cake, we will take over, cutting and serving the cake to your guests.

Dinner Dinner

Can we change tables during the dinner?
We recommend that you, as the bridal couple, switch tables between courses while the other guests remain in their seats. This ensures smooth and timely service and that all dietary requirements are served correctly.

Are speeches allowed during dinner?
Speeches are allowed, and we appreciate knowing about them on the day itself. Our manager will discuss this with the master of ceremonies at the start of the wedding.

How many people can be accommodated during the dinner?
Our Kamer van Lintelo can accommodate up to 58 people for a sit-down dinner. If you expect more guests for dinner, we can use our larger rooms, which can hold up to 120 people. If desired, we can also serve a walking dinner.

How long does a dinner last?
We see dinner as a moment of relaxation for the bridal couple and the family to enjoy a delicious meal together. A general guideline is:

  • 3 courses – 2.5 hours
  • 4 courses – 3 hours
  • 5 courses – 3.5 hours

What dietary requirements can we accommodate during the dinner?
Two weeks before your wedding, we would like to receive the allergy and dietary requirements. We can accommodate:

  • Vegetarian
  • Vegan
  • Gluten-free
  • Lactose-free
  • Pregnant guests

If a guest has an allergy, it’s important to note that there might be traces of products like nuts and peanuts in our kitchen. Our meat products are not halal, so we will serve our vegetarian menu to those guests. Unfortunately, our kitchen cannot accommodate Paleo, kosher, or other combined dietary requirements for groups.

It is not always possible to accommodate last-minute dietary requirements. Last-minute dietary changes will incur additional costs.

Party Party

Until what time can we party?
The party must end by 1:00 AM. Therefore, we advise announcing the last round around 12:30 AM so that guests and the DJ can prepare for the end of the event.

Is fireworks allowed?
Fireworks, torches, and confetti are not allowed.

How many guests can attend the party?
The party can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Can our guests smoke?
Smoking is not allowed anywhere indoors. It is also not allowed on the steps or the gravel terrace. Until 10:00 PM, your guests can smoke near our entrance. After 10:00 PM, a designated smoking area next to the terrace is available.

Is there space for a DJ?
Yes, there is space for a DJ in our lounge. You can use one of our regular DJs or bring your own. Each DJ must bring their own sound equipment, keeping in mind that we are an old building without high-voltage power. Our manager will inform the DJs of the sound restrictions and discuss the last round in advance.

Is security present?
For weddings with 50 or more guests, a security guard will be present.

When do we sign the bill for any additional drinks and other post-calculation costs?
We prefer to have the bill signed on the night of the wedding. Therefore, our manager will ask for a signature. This can be done by you as the bridal couple or by the master of ceremonies if preferred.

Hotel Hotel

What time can we check into the hotel room?
The rooms are ready for check-in from 3:00 PM. The 14 rooms in the castle include 4 different types: suites, comfort, basic, and a single room. All rooms are equipped with Auping beds. Most beds are 1.80 meters wide, but some basic rooms have French beds, which are 1.40 meters wide.

Can you place a gift in the hotel rooms for us?
Yes, we can certainly do that. We would like to know in advance so we can ensure someone is available to arrange this. There is a small fee for this service.

Do you have an elevator?
No, unfortunately, we do not have an elevator, and all our rooms are located on the 1st or 2nd floor.

What time do we need to check out?
To ensure a smooth departure, we advise groups to check out by 9:30 AM. This allows ample time to have a relaxed breakfast and bid farewell to your guests.

What time is breakfast the next day?
We serve an extensive breakfast buffet in our kitchen. We reserve a private area in the restaurant for you and your guests to enjoy breakfast. The group breakfast is served between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM. We ask that you check out before breakfast.

After the Party After the Party

Can we leave items behind to be picked up later?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. There is a good chance that the space will be reserved for the day after your wedding. Therefore, we ask that you take all your belongings with you the following morning.

What should we do with the flowers?
Sometimes, the bouquets can be taken with you. We often use the large bouquets in your breakfast area to clearly mark that they are reserved for you. You can take the flower arrangements with you at 10:30 AM.
